. @stephensackur you used the words “convicted criminal” for a thrice elected Prime Minister of Pakistan. Did you even read the judgement to find out what he was “convicted” of? I’m sure even you will be shocked. Because you and your team didn’t bother to read the judgment that https://twitter.com/gulbukhari/status/1334382193536274432
became the laughing stock of the world wide legal fraternity. In one case he was “convicted” of not declaring a nominal salary which he never received from his own son’s company in the UAE. (The position & salary were a legal requirement of the residence permit during exile)
And the court therefore declared that unreceived salary as an asset that Nawaz Sharif failed to declare and was therefore not “Sadiq & Ameen” (truthful & righteous). If you had known this, if you had done an iota of research, you would have cringed at your own words. @BBCWorld
. @BBCHARDtalk is there any court in the U.K. that could have gotten away with a verdict like this against anyone, leave alone the elected prime minister of the country?
With regard to the second case in which he got sentenced for seven years, have you seen the judge’s confessional videos or read news reports that he has confessed to being blackmailed into convicting Nawaz Sharif? Read it here: https://www.thestatesman.com/world/pak-judge-confesses-blackmailed-convict-nawaz-sharif-maryam-releases-new-videos-1502776111.html
Do you know that the judge in question, Arshad Malik, was dismissed from service for exactly this reason? That he confessed to convicting Nawaz Sharif because he was blackmailed with his “dirty videos” into doing so? @BBCWorld @BBCNews @stephensackur Here: https://aje.io/u2aff
Do you know that he is on video guiding a PMLN worker as to how his verdict should be challenged - pointing out the contradictions and weaknesses of his own verdict? Do you know he asked for forgiveness from Nawaz Sharif? @BBCWorld @stephensackur if you had done any research
before calling Nawaz Sharif a “convicted criminal” - just googled a little - you would have found this record too. https://aje.io/u2aff
Do you know that judge Arshad Malik has died under mysterious circumstances today? The media was made to report that he died of COVID-19 but his son has stated that judge Malik had tested negative. @BBCWorld @stephensackur @BBCNews Your show propagated the military’s propaganda.
