A lot of propaganda is pushed around that farmers are uneducated folks and can’t read bills. A lackey self made godman even said that farmers don’t read. These are all factually incorrect claims and hold no ground. Here are some stats from Singhu border

1. The demographics of protesting farmers is 7:3 m/f
2. 40% of the protestors are under the age of 40.
3. 90% of these 40% are graduates or post graduates.
4. 15%-20% of the protesting youth is BTech or BE from Punjab.
5. 88% of old protesting farmers know at least 2 languages

6. 2000-3000 participating women are part of BKU (Ugrahan). Most of these women are seasoned activists of Punjab since the turmoil era. Their leader Harinder Bindu has been anti militancy activist herself.

7. 6 out of 10 men said that they read newspaper everyday.

8) 4 out of 10 protesting men have served in Indian army, navy or airforce.

9) 6 out of 10 women say that their sons are currently serving in army.

10) 7 out of 10 old people I met perform Nitnem.
