...have distinctions based on ingredients used/style of dum. As far as I can tell, there isn't any unified Karachi version. there are also "baloch" (Lyari) and "pashtun" (Orangi) variants I've come across but seem to be cooked like pulao.
should definitely add that in the absence of documentations and the like, these variations are based on my readings of the communities making them or looking up recipes out of their indian origins etc, not exact labels.
