Sometimes, our drive for perfectionism as writers stems from the fear of being vulnerable.

The fear of the possibility of rejection, the fear of others seeing our work as ridiculous could lead to numerous hours spent re-writing and revising to make our work perfect.
Ultimately, we then fail to publish our work when we see it as not good enough.

That is why learning to embrace vulnerability is good practice as writers. And to embrace vulnerability, you have to overcome shame.
