A somewhat common narrative among HKers is that "the US Democratic Party politicians barely or never speak out for HK". Which is just not that accurate.

So to combat this narrative, let's do a recap and brief introduction for the US Democrats who speak out this time!
Let's start with the house:

Speaker Nancy Pelosi

I think everyone's already familiar with her. https://twitter.com/SpeakerPelosi/status/1334188694224441351?s=19
Rep. Jim McGovern

Chair of House Rules Committee, has focused on international human rights in his political career and is probably one of the politicians who has spoke out for HK the most, sadly many HKers seem to be unfamiliar with him. https://twitter.com/RepMcGovern/status/1334170641239592961?s=20
Rep. Barbara Lee

Co-Chair of House Steering and Policy Committee and former chair of the Congressional Black Caucus

A long-serving progressive politician who's very influential in the Democratic Party. https://twitter.com/RepBarbaraLee/status/1334244004519677952?s=20
Rep. Eliot Engel

Chair of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, has voiced out for Hong Kong multiple times. https://twitter.com/HouseForeign/status/1334535621638021121?s=20
Rep. Carolyn B. Maloney

Chair of the House Oversight Committee, one of the most powerful committee in the House. https://twitter.com/RepMaloney/status/1334266737114685442?s=20
Rep. Dan Lipinski

Current Chair of the House Transportation Subcommittee on Railroads, Pipelines, and Hazardous Materials https://twitter.com/RepLipinski/status/1334246428236017665?s=20
And now let's turn our attention to the Senate!

Sen. Dick Durbin

Senate Democratic Whip and current Senate Minority Whip

Basically the #2 of the Democratic leadership in the US senate. https://twitter.com/SenatorDurbin/status/1334559847682101248?s=20
Sen. Jeff Merkley

Ranking Member of Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies

One of the leading progressive members in the Senate. https://twitter.com/SenJeffMerkley/status/1334652586373287936?s=20
Sen. Ed Markey

Ranking Member of Senate Foreign Relations Subcommittee on East Asia, The Pacific and International Cybersecurity Policy

Another leading progressive members who is also one of the lawmakers who introduced the Taiwan Fellowship Act. https://twitter.com/SenMarkey/status/1334665450316328960?s=20
Sen. Ben Cardin

Ranking Member of the Senate Small Business Committee https://twitter.com/SenatorCardin/status/1334234024735367168?s=20
Sen. Chris Van Hollen

Former Chair of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee https://twitter.com/ChrisVanHollen/status/1334211045888552968?s=20
...And more, because the Democratic Party has nearly 300 members in the congress and a lot of them either didn't use social media frequently or voice out their concern in other platforms (*cough* Warren *cough*).
But from all these tweets you can see that there're many high-ranked and influential Democratic politicians who has shown support for Hong Kong. Should there be more? Definitely! Is it "barely or never" tho? Absolutely not.
So if next time you came across the narrative of "the US Democratic Party barely or never support HK", just be content and understand that there are actually Democratic politicians who has frequently voiced out for HK, and that support of HK is a bipartisan issue. Thank you!
