I have mixed opinion on the idea of being a generalist. Tho it is necessary for people early in their career, often they are low leverage activities for me on a micro level.

I spend hours fixing the design elements and that just leaves me dissatisfied & frustrated hence destroying the momentum for further work.

Since a few days, I have started to delegate tasks to people who are good at it. Days turn out to be so productive now.

Imo, working solo is a bad idea & if someone commits to be a solo worker, they probably aren't realizing the work they might be outsourcing. @nateliason mentioned the same the other day.

There are some activities which acts as an energy multiplier. The tasks which leaves you fulfilled ( /what you are good at) are the ones!

This ofcourse does not mean never expanding your skill set. In fact, you should be trying to make yourself uncomfortable often. This thread was looking at the "micro level" i.e. the day to day work.
