1. The US left suffers from 3 serious problems: an utter lack of respect for theory, a deeply ingrained pessimism about the prospects of revolution, and an inability to cast off the bourgeois ways of thinking they've subconsciously absorbed by living in this capitalist society.
2. These are the types of leftists who pose as communists during times when nothing is happening but become Democrats during election seasons.
3. They don't understand communism beyond the memes because they won't pick up Marx and Lenin, preferring to rely on memes for their "education."
4. A desire to see socialism is one thing, but without a grounding in theory these people will always go back to the bourgeois liberal ideas and activities that they're surrounded with. They pose as revolutionaries but they don't really believe revolution is possible.
5. They say "yeah well Sanders is the best thing we can get here in the US," or the classic "would you rather have Trump?"
6. You can tell them that the reason for that is their own refusal to organize outside the Democratic Party and build a political alternative, but it just goes in one ear and out the other.
7. I'm sure we've all had countless of interactions that more or less followed the same script.
8. These people will go around posting guillotine memes and a handful of out-of-context Lenin quotes that they don't really even grasp, but when push comes to shove, they don't believe revolution is possible.
9. Even as reformists, they're pitiful. They don't even think that the Democrat monopoly on power can be broken and replaced with a more progressive bourgeois party like the Greens.
10. At the end of the day these people are liberals playing at being leftists. And this isn't going to change so long as these people refuse to organize outside the Democratic Party. These people simply refuse to learn.
