God loves you as no one else does, more than you can imagine. And nothing will withstand that love. In fact, the OT likes to describe God as a jealous God - and this jealousy is good news!
God will not let us settle for the idols that enslave us, even the ones we set our hearts on - God will destroy them! God's wrath and judgment are nothing but this love as purifying fire, as the relentless removal of everything that could separate us from God.
God is who Jesus Christ revealed in the Gospel - the Shepherd who would leave the ninety and nine, the Father who will run to greet the prodigal Son. And every judgment of God serves and confirms this.
