Email is two-way communication.

Give people a reason to use that reply button and tell you what they want.
Let people know what to expect when they consume your content.

That means:
- Uniform tone
- Uniform voice
- Uniform delivery of content
B2B: You can always ask for more money.

Sometimes, you even might be better off asking for more money.
Remember:

People connect with people far more than with brands.
Build on personality.

Cults are for people.
Future (and present) of media businesses:
Focus on people first businesses.

Examples:
- @stephsmithio from the Hustle.
- @harrydry from Marketing Examples.
- And of course, all @MorningBrew team.
Test.

Test.

Test.
Build network effects.

Build force multipliers.

Build an army of people helping other people grow.
Career advice:

Become the brand that accelerates people into hockey-stick-success.
When hiring, think mercilessly about two questions:

1) Why do we really need the person?

2) What are we looking for in this person?
When hiring and failing, think mercilessly about two questions:

1) Which things made me think this person was going to succeed?

2) Where was I wrong?
The one quality among all successful hires:

They are intellectually curious and teach themselves what they need to learn.
Write down your thoughts.

You won't remember them.
Promotion between different mediums is not that effective.

Instead, promote the same one.

Newsletter to newsletter.

Instagram to Instagram.

You get the idea.
No one knows what they are doing.
Points that will make you more likely to succeed:

- Target companies' credit cards.

- Target rich people.
You can't own the Twitter algorithm.

You can't own the Instagram algorithm.

But you can be sure about one thing:

There's no algorithm in newsletters.

They will always be delivered to emails.
