Hey there! So I’m doin a big fly!

I’m very aware that the timing in a pandemic is 🙃 but before ya’ll flood my DM’s with concerns, I’m sharing my safety procedures. This is also for anyone who might find themself needing to fly & how to mediate as much risk as possible. (1/13)
1. GET YOSELF A FACE SHEILD! It does add protection for you. That’s why doctors wear them. I recommend Gizda’s hooded face shield. Added 360 protection and it’s much more comfortable for long wear than a band on your forehead digging into your temples causing headaches. 👩🏻‍🚀 (2/13)
2. In the case of visiting other humans. Ideally as many or all humans should get properly tested in advance. This means limiting yourself from any/new exposures for 3 - preferably 5 days before testing to have accurate results before travel. ✅ (3/13)
3. Wear a face mask the entire time. The best faced mask you can get.

Either an N95 if you can get one, a disposable proper multilayered surgical mask, or if using cloth reusable masks: use a multilayered mask made of cotton or cotton blends, an added filter is best. 😷 (4/13)
4. If you have layovers, be prepared with 1 completely fresh mask per flight. Do this mask swap quickly, carefully, with clean hands, and importantly as far away from others as you can get. 😷😷(5/13)
5. Only during this quick face mask swap do you drink water or eat food if you can help it. Minimize your maskless time and minimize your need to use the tiny airplane restroom or airport restroom. 💧= 💛 (6/13)
6. Do not ever touch your face ever without first hand sanitizing. You may get little itches over the course of hours and hours. The Giza hood can help with this sometimes as you can occasionally scratch a little forehead itch through the fabric part of it as needed. 🤦🏻‍♀️ (7/13)
7. Most airlines have policies to space seating out/ clean all planes between flights. Look into your airline to know how you feel about wanting wipes to clean your seat or not. They may have different policies on food, carry on bottle sizes, & flight cancellations too. ✈️ (8/13)
8. Planes do an almost shockingly good job of keeping the air clean and moving. Safer than indoor spaces. More akin to those outdoor hangouts most of you have gotten so comfy with than you’d think. My face shield fogs up less on a plane than even outdoors sometimes. 🌬(9/13)
9. Take care of yourself and your stress/mental health however you need to. I’m have OCD and I’m terrified of this whole process. My first time flying TSA immediately had me take off my face shield and I wasn’t prepared for that and had some serious P A N I C responses. (10/13)
This time I took my healing crystals (klonopin) in advance. They had me remove my shield, gloves, patted me down thoroughly 2x, and my hands tested + for explosive chemicals?? And in the end it was fine. Unmedicated I would NOT have stayed calm. Do what you gotta do.💊 (11/13)
10. Consider a covid contact tracer app. You download by state, it’s anonymous, and it’ll alert you if you’ve been in close proximity to someone who later tests positive. But please please plan ahead to quarantine and test after you travel. Don’t add to the spike. 📈 (12/13)
Final note.

At the end of it all I’d rather fly on a plane than do outdoor dining. You have a mask on the whole time with almost NO ONE TALKING. No masks off with people all around eating/talking/laughing. It’s not safe, there’s no such thing, but we can make it safer. 💙(13/13)
