As @warmquietnight just tipped me off, in June of this year David Lynch registered copyrights, in the category “Dramatic Works,” for 13 “episodes” of something titled UNRECORDED NIGHT.

Could this be the actual title of his new Netflix project? Is it tied to TWIN PEAKS? [thread]
Curiously, the number of episodes of UNRECORDED NIGHT copyrighted, 13, matches the report by Reddit user u/canthaveit back in February that Lynch would be making a project for Netflix tentatively titled or code-named WISTERIA that would be comprised of “13 mini-movies.”
Equally curious, the date that user u/canthaveit posted their WISTERIA report, February 23, 2020, happens to be the exact same date that Lynch made an updated CA corporate filing for Twin Peaks Productions, Inc., listing him (rather than Mark Frost) as its CEO - see below. https://twitter.com/fatecolossal/status/1333903568710086658
That Reddit post was concurrent w/ a report that Lynch had begun casting a new project. At the very least, it should raise eyebrows that Twin Peaks Productions, Inc, made its first new corporate filing in years the very same week that casting on Lynch’s new Netflix project began.
Now, is there any way to reconcile the two different names, WISTERIA and UNRECORDED NIGHT? Production weekly called WISTERIA a “working title,” and Reddit user u/canthaveit called it possibly a “code name.” Could the actual title be UNRECORDED NIGHT?
As @warmquietnight pointed out to me, the (innately Lynchian) plant nightshade has been etymologically
traced to the Old English word nihtscada, which literally translates as “unrecorded night.”

Thus both titles, WISTERIA and UNRECORDED NIGHT, are named for / tied to flowers. https://twitter.com/warmquietnight/status/1334616806674280452
(And both titles, for what it’s worth, put me in mind of the use of flowers/poppies as a sleeping agent in Lynch’s beloved THE WIZARD OF OZ.)
Caveat: not being an expert, it’s possible that “UNRECORDED NIGHT EPISODE” refers to a work named NIGHT that has yet to be recorded. But given the etymology of nightshade from something literally translated as “unrecorded night,” that struck me as actually being the full title.

One more small detail about Lynch and copyrights: in May of this year, he copyrighted a poem named ‘IN THE DREAM.’
