I joined a meeting this week with a group of U12G and their coaches. Players had been asked the week before to present information on female players they admired. All presentations were excellent, two in particular were very interesting, both chose @mPinoe . 1/3
Although both players mentioned her extensive playing career, the main focus was on Rapinoe’s campaigning and leadership off the field. We want to develop excellent players but we also want to help in the development of excellent people also 2/3
To be able to reference players like @mPinoe and @MarcusRashford for the work they are doing off the field assists in reminding players that being an excellent footballer should be in combination with being an excellent person 3/3
