Found my #NFLDraft evaluation of Wentz, which I think still rings true now. Way too many people glossed over the flaws in his lower-body mechanics, which is a really tough thing to unlearn. I'll concede however that maybe my Brandon Weeden projection was harsh
I bang on about lower-body mechanics for QBs constantly but it's only because of how important yet underrecognised it is. A QB without a good base will either lack an NFL arm, or throw his shoulder out by his late 20s. Watch TB12 and you'll see it's the reason he's still going
Interestingly, Dak Prescott's lower-body mechanics were pretty awful in college, but they're now one of the best in the game. It's clear how much effort he's put into improving. People laugh at this warmup, but it works.
