Orlando’s league ranks *AFTER* Jonathan Isaac’s New Year’s Day injury:
T-14th D-RTG (112.4)
T-11th O-RTG (113.2)

Clifford beats bad teams playing safe; replacing DJ with Cole off the bench and adding Chuma to the mix, The Magic PROMISE to chase 7-seeds.

the wizards, hornets, and hawks all improved their offenses. there’s little reason to believe any of them caught up to Orlando’s league-average defense, even without J.I.
I’d obviously enjoy a step back this season in a loaded class to add a potential franchise-changer like Cade to the young core, but ownership and the front office have made it clear that’s not an option.
barring injury, The Magic will be their same above-average selves.

also, with the play-in tournament, the 10-seed is nearly as valuable as the 7-seed.
5 of the knicks, cavs, pistons, bulls, hornets, hawks, wizards, magic won’t make it, but the rest will.
barring trades/injuries, Orlando is too decent to not compete for 7-10.
