I hate conservative traitors like J.D. Vance and his Hillbilly Elegy more than anyone else. It's acceptable bootstrapism for white strivers who want to be liked that is predicated on "escaping" a contrived Hollywood fantasy on the very real problems of rural and urban whites
The hatred is personal. I know the problems of dysfunctional families. My wife's family came from Southern poverty and were lifted up by the opportunities they were given. The military saved my father in law from a menial factory job that would be gone in a generation
He didn't grow up with a toilet in the home. His family were low protestant Charismatics. The stuff Hollywood likes mocking. He made a good life for himself. My wife and I were beneficiaries of family members who wanted to make sure their kids didn't need to live like that
Everyone who did better for themselves, and both my wife and I are more educated than was ever possible for our families, never turned those struggles or problems into something that needed to be "escaped" from. Whatever issues there are, there is no artificial distance for us
They're still our kith and kin, however much some branches went on to be different or do different things. One doesn't need to romanticize the dysfunction or poverty or even overemphasize it to avoid turning into a investment banking conservative piece of shit.
Family is a sacred bond. You take your tribe as they are, you don't air shit to impress a bunch of heaumeauxs at a Manhattan brunch because you think it will help your fake and gay career
