I think the latter is almost required viewing, however, because it's truly brilliant and an undeniably anti-war movie that practically laughs in the face of Hollywood's own timid takes on the genre.

I also think it speaks volumes that Ari Aster's work is mentioned so frequently. Hereditary really screwed with me, as did his short films. If he pulls off Beau is Afraid (the script for that was online for a while), then we'll never sleep again.
