Higurashi Gou is so frustrating to watch as someone who already experienced the original story, because on one hand, yeah cool, I get to re-experience Higurashi with a few twist here and there, but also, knowing it's a "sequel" makes it fucking unbearable for so many reasons

1) Because, I just wanna get to the original stuff faster, and a good 90% of it is just recap, which if it was just an adaptation, I wouldn't have minded, but the anime don't bring justice to that story no matter the effort that is being put, it's not worth for 3min of new shit

2) Rika pisses me off so much, they better pull a fine-ass plotwist during the answer arcs to justify her failures but also why the fuck she behaves like that. Rika doesn't feel like a natural progression of her character from the original serie or Saikoroshi it's frustrating

In 10 episodes Gou, only had a few fulminance, but it's as forgettable a "sequelmake" could be, the chara design is cute, but the direction is poor, the animation is inconsistent, and yes it's at least not as insulting as Deen, but also, Higurashi deserves way fucking better

If anything, if the culprit and conspiracy behind everything is still the same, and there's no new mastermind to be talked about, it makes 0 sense for Rika to not go full Miotsukushi. She clearly shows that she knows, so why does she still behave like Rika pre-matsuribayashi lmao
