/ While vaccination verification sounds great including the notion of the "digital health pass" for event access, it got significantly more problematic with Operation Warp Speed and the DoD's announcement about the "vaccination card" yesterday. https://bit.ly/3om1DHX
/ Unless something is not being shared or changes dramatically between now and initial distribution of vaccines, there are some potentially very large concerns with the plan for the card. You see, this is the vaccination card that was revealed yesterday: https://cnn.it/3mEVsyi
/ Here's a better picture of it. Plain white paper, hand written, not serial numbered, embossed, something that anyone could photocopy on a home laser printer.
/ The article goes on to state that some information may be optional such as a cell phone number and there may be a registry that clinics can query to verify which vaccine someone had -- and while there is a "patient number", this is not digital first in any way, shape, or form.
/end. If this vaccination card is the solution being looked at to get us back to "normal" in live events and sports, and travel to other countries -- it looks very messy with the potential for significant fraudulent reproductions which could be impossible to verify.
