(1/6) It’s not often that we hear back from individuals that we come into contact with, but in some cases we do. One of our officers received a touching story from a man he had charged with impaired driving.
(2/6) The man reached out to the detachment a year later and asked that a special message be passed onto the officer who had pulled him over. In his message he thanked the officer for giving him back his life and ensuring that he didn’t harm anyone.
(3/6) He realized that it was the wake up call he needed to get him back on track with his family, friends, and profession. He also expressed thanks to the support the officers gave him while at the detachment.
(4/6) He recalled that while he was feeling scared and nervous, a member told him that it is human to make mistakes and that we become better people when we are able to learn and grow from the past.
(5/6) When we hear of the positive impacts that we have on the lives of Albertans, it makes our job all the more worthwhile. We appreciate the opportunity to keep families and communities safe and we look forward to making more meaningful connections with you!
