how to correctly tw / cw things: a very short thread by your local bennett
tw and cws are not only helpful for what people don’t want to see, but they are also helpful for people to mute certain words and/or phrases that may trigger them. because of this, please do not censor any words that may be applicable!
DO NOT only put !! TW !! and nothing else. this defeats the purpose of a trigger warning.
correct: tw [trigger, completely spelled out without asterisks]
incorrect: tw/[trigger]
incorrect: tw [trigger but with asterisks in it]

WHY IS tw/trigger INCORRECT?
there is no space between the trigger warning and the trigger, meaning that the post and/or word will still show up even though people have muted it.

by putting an asterisk in place of a letter, the post and/or world will still show up even though people have muted it, similarly to the post without spaces above.
