i feel like the only people who benefit from movie theatres dying are the rich

billion dollar companies take in even more money because their streaming platform has the rights to a newly released movie

companies don't want to distribute their movies to cinemas, they want money
and crazy enough i think it benefits richer customers too.

its easy to say "oh i can sit back and watch films with my nice 70 inch tv? nice."

but not everyone has a huge screen and amazing sound system, its easier and cheaper for a lotta people to just pay £15 for a ticket
think about some dudes who are on low wages barely getting by who maybe have cinema as their only outlet to escape

now they have to save for a massive tv and sound system to get that experience they got for £15 a week? sounds dumb
films going onto streaming services and overpriced movie theatres dying doesn't sound bad at first glance, but in reality it can come down to deep-rooted classism, not everyone can afford to have massive cinematic set ups in their front room.
i do think a shake-up is required for movie theatres though, they overprice a lot of things especially food and maybe they'll look at this and change their ways. but at the end of the day, the movie theatre dying only benefits richer people
