If restaurants and gyms were required to hand every patron a current graph of their local ICU capacity upon entry, would the public simply make it all work?
The science suggests maybe, as long as people also understood they can’t wait until 90% ICU capacity is reached before adjusting.
I recall that energy and water companies learned people will conserve more aggressively if they know the neighbors are out-gooding them.
The government took the power of managing the pandemic from the public. Made sense at the time. But once you have educated the public, does that temporary arrangement still make sense?
If you CAN test something small, and you don’t, you are managing wrong. Let’s test information as a substitute for force and then . . . Follow the science.
