One of the BIGGEST advantages of having studied in the US, specially at an Ivy League school in a city like Philadelphia is the exposure I received to 2 ethnicities:

Judaism and African Americans.
The FIRST thing I was educated on by my friends at Penn Dental was what NOT to say to and about them. And I wish to share that here as I saw a tweet recently break one of the rules.

Judaism: Any one who has studied history knows who Hitler, also known as "The Fuhrer" was.
He basically is responsible for massacre for millions of people purely because they belonged to the Jewish faith.

What he has done, rather had done, is TERRIBLE and almost nothing can come close to it in terms of cruelty, insensitivity, racial bias and inhumanity.
On this background, to call ANYONE "Hitler" or a "Nazi" is WRONG! Period. There is NO debate on this topic.

Because NOTHING anyone could have done comes anywhere close to what he did. And by calling someone like your teacher, or coach, or boss, or a political figure by that
term is being very very insensitive.

Because now you are equating what ever this person has done, or you feel has done, to the massacre of millions of people.

So PLEASE don't call ANYONE by the term "Hitler" or "Nazi" or "Fuhrer".
African Americans:

A MAJOR blot on this history of America is that of SLAVERY.

People were bought and sold like candy to carry out harsh manual labor in inhuman conditions under terrible circumstances.

It was not until Abraham Lincoln abolished slavery that this was a
routine practice.

But NO ONE can imagien the severity of the issue.

As such, to use the term "Slavery" to describe any experience, like studying in a govt medical college in India, or working in the US on a H1B visa etc is once again being very very INSENSITIVE to the
African American people. PERIOD.

What social media has done is open up the doors of information for the entire world at the same level.

So living in India, you have access to amazing doctors, scientists, writers, inventors, educators, sports players and experts etc at the
click of the button.

What social media has ALSO done is now imposed rules about racial and cultural sensitivity on certain parts of the world where they did not exist for the longest time.

I can assure you a LOT of people in India has NO clue why Symonds was so upset at
Bhajji for supposedly calling him a "Monkey", regardless of whether it happened or not. Including Bhajji himself!

So I request all my friends in India to please avoid the usage of the terms "Hitler/Nazi/Fuhrer" and "Slavery".
