Google has this long history of killing products
I have been hurt by many of their deprecations over the years

Today what hit was Google play music

Knew was on lifeline and today it stopped working on my phone :(
I used Google play music as a player for downloaded songs residing on the phone. I had built playlists and keep going back to those daily.

They gave notice to transition to @youtubemusic but alas! no way to transfer my local files to you tube music
Another one which clearly hurt, was AngularJS. My previous employer had significant investments made using #angularjs and @google pulled the rug under the feet

Finally we decided to move to React world
Back in the days @googlereader was one of my fav aggregators for blogs and content in Internet, would have spent hours daily reading through blogs using reader and it vanished and I haven't found a satisfactory replacement for that yet
And then @inboxbygmail was one I liked a lot esp the phone app, very simple and sleek interface.

A minimalist app with features like pin/unpin and easily swipe and archive/delete the emails

I was hooked to it and now I have painfully adjusted to GMail again
@googlewave was an app ahead of time 8 years ago, was hooked to it and thought it will take off big, but suddenly vanished into thin air
Picasa was a great desktop app for organizing photos and editing them and syncing them to the cloud

Got killed by @googlephotos still I don't have a good replacement in my desktop to organize the photos
Another one in the saga is Google URL Shortener
Had a nice plugin in google chrome to shorten the URL quickly and share

It got killed last year and I don't have any replacement in chrome for that currently
