Virginia Tech announces cost-saving measures in the athletic department it hopes will save $15 million to help offset losses from the pandemic.

It will do it through "salary reductions, financial contributions & efficiencies," which is a fancy way of saying salary cuts. #Hokies

From January to December in 2021, people making $115,000 or more will get a 10 percent salary reduction. There's a sliding percentage scale down to those making $40,000 or more. #Hokies

In the release, the #Hokies note that they're also making "operational reductions when possible" and has made a "small reduction in workforce." That's kind of buried in there, but that sure sounds like layoffs.
