So, I've been hearing a lot hearing a lot from GCs about transition as an escape from homophobia, and specifically butchphobia. I qas talking to a GC person recently and she's explained to me how she, and a few people she'd spoken to had experinced exactly that. Experiencing
more lesphobic harrassment from people pre-transition than she experienced transphobic harrasment post-transition. In short, wrt other people, her life was easier IDing as a straight trans man than has a cis lesbian. My initial reaction was a little skeptical, based on my own
experiences and the patterns of harrassment report data but it made kind of wonder how common of an experience this is for trans men who had previously experienced lesphobia/butchphobia since it isn't really my wheelhouse...
I was wondering if any trans masc peeps who've previously experienced lesphobia/butchphobia could share their experiences?
