It's great to criticize ideas and data, but not, IMHO, random people

Every day it seems 100 or 1000 people find a comment or tweet of some random individual that they do not like and turn it into a referendum on that person

I promise, you are not helping your cause!
You don't defeat or solve systemic problems by finding a random person who espoused a view you don't like and hanging them in the public square.

You are better off making the case for your ideas
There are many of us who don't have the stomach to watch the grotesque spectacle of a mob attacking 1 person, who ironically is typically mostly aligned with your worldview but said something slightly off.

I see it as the least productive, most divisive and self defeating act
