If people have trouble understanding how Jews can embrace antisemitic politics: it's not such a mystery.

1. Experience is not the same for everybody. And how people make sense of their experience is different for different people....> https://twitter.com/DavidHirsh/status/1334454955214827520
... 2. Antisemitism is frightening because it is irrational and there's not much Jews can do about it.

It is tempting to believe that you live in a world where antisemitism is a rational response to Jews doing bad things.

Then Jews can make things better by being good....>
.... 3. Obvs Jews are often particularly interested in Israel.

Some Jews are especially obsessive about Israel's crimes, real or imagined.

When they take their Jewish obsession into civil society and demand that non-Jewish orgs adopt it as their own, then there's trouble...>
... 4. When Jews or Israelis adopt the old Bolshevik slogan: "The Main Enemy is at Home", sometimes they find a very welcoming response.

Sometimes non Jews answer: "Yes, the main enemy is Israel", rather than "Yes, our main enemy is our own state." ...>
... 5. Antizionism was, in the 1920s, a critique of the idea that Jews should go to Israel and build a state with which they could defend themselves. OK.

But in 2020 it isn't a critique of an idea or a movement, it's a critique of an actually existing nation state....>
.... The big macho Marxist historical materialist antizionists forgot that there were significant material changes in the world in the middle of the 20th Century: the Holocaust; Arab nationalism and Islamism which ethnically cleansed Jews; Russian and Soviet antisemitism....>
...That's why antizionists often portray Zionism as a movement or as an idea, so it can be wrong.
But a nation state cannot be wrong. It exists or it doesn't exist.

Treating Israel as an idea or a movement allows a way of thinking which says it's wrong and can be destroyed...>
... 6. Antizionism is written without a hyphen, as is antisemitism.

There is no 'Semitism' which antisemitism opposes, except it's own invented notion, 'the Jews'.

The 'Zionism' that antizionism opposes is self-invented, it means racism, imperialism, apartheid etc..>
...7. I should write something more on Jewish antizionism.

They are not 'useful idiots' of antisemites, rather they are the very vanguard of the antisemitic movement.

If I was not Jewish, and had taught to be antisemitic by antizionist Jews, how angry would I be with them? ...>
...8. Jewish antizionists mobilize & parade their own Jewish identities, real or invented, to get a hearing from non-Jews.

They bear witness against their own community.

It's a strange inversion of identity politics.
