The following thread are just some of the idea my sleep deprived brain conjured up in the middle of a sleepless night. Upon review in a more cognitively stable state, I still think they're pretty good and better than anything I saw being done by the team in the last 10 years...
1. Feature local talent. Not just from Brampton but our closest associations as well (Mimico, Gerogetown, Orangeville) to bring in more local support. *Get Rubisch back*
this was STARTING to happen but has now been cut short by Joe Norton
2. Repair relations with Orangeville. As their closes Major venue Brampton and Orangeville used to have a strong relationship and we featured a lot of Orangeville talent (especially Sandersons) which has faded out in recent years. This is a huge lacrosse fan base lost
3. STRONG social media. Year long. connecting with other lacrosse accounts. Get it done professionally. (Hey @nikkbetts, know anyone we could use?)
4. Emphasis on sponsors. They need to know their money is well spent. Sponsor bar on every jersey, player sponsors announced for goals, headshots with player sponsors on social media (posted for goals, assists and penalties), feature game day sponsors.
[cont.] Road trip sponsors. Make a deal with other teams to announce a sponsor for the visiting team. They can cover all or part of bussing or gas costs. (More effective with larger chain sponsors like Canadian Tire, Husky, Denny's Bus Lines ect...)
5. Targeted advertising in Brampton and area (paid adverts on social media, newspaper ads). Reach our to local papers to provide reliable game coverage - another opportunity to push sponsors.
Stay involved with the community - minor program; "try it" sessions and BE accademy. In the city; Santa Clause Parade, Rib n' Roll, Carabram (lacrosse SHOULD be part of the Canadian pavillion). Activities such as hardest short, or a goalie in net can easily be set up. - SPONSORS
Community/charity days. All day events set up at the arena. BBQ, meet some players, how hard can you shoot, merch sales, sponsor exposure. All ticket sales donated to local charity (money lost but will bring in more people to support. plus tax receipt)
Work with other teams. The league needs to cooperate to survive. Teams should encourage fans to take road trips. This not only give their team more fans and support in the stands, but helps support the other team through ticket and food sales which is then reciprocated.
