EASY?!?
Look, being rich in a capitalist society is generally automatic easy mode, but my own coming out didn't result in:

- Famous journalists and their shitty fanboys harassing me in my mentions.

- A Wikipedia war which publicly ruled my deadname a matter of important public record
- Articles and tweets from prominent terfs about how my transition is violence against the community because they have one fewer lesbian + they're uncomfortable at their residual attraction to me.

- The entire world speculating writ large about my genitals and dysphoria.
Do I think Elliot will have an easier time paying for top surgery (should he desire it) than I had? Yes, sure.

But do I also think Elliot may face a massive career-ending blacklist that forces him out of his entire industry in a way that I wouldn't? I'm afraid of that, yeah.
I don't think we can balance Elliot's money on one scale and his total lack of privacy on the other and declare the result a simple "eh, he's got an easier go of it than most" because that's simplistic and unhelpful and probably terribly wrong.
Every step of Elliot's journey will be public whether he wants it to be or not. When I had top surgery, I didn't have to worry a nurse would snap a picture of me and sell it to the tabloids.

"Easy", my ass.
I'm proud of Elliot for using his coming out moment to highlight how vulnerable many members of our community are, and how much they need support.

I see no value in punching sideways on him for having permanently exchanged his privacy for some money when he was 10 years old.
