There are numerous vaccines in phase 3 trials worldwide, 4 in the US currently and a 5th one going into phase 3 soon. The FDA is meeting on the 10th and 17th to possibly approve some of these.

CDC has released guidelines for vaccinations -
Dr. Khan "loves the ethical principles here" (this man is a treasure) "promoting justice here is so important"

Looks like people 65 years or older are on the list for vaccines if supply is limited and I was going to make an old people joke about our County Board but won't.

Hey @UNMC_DrKhan I didn't get a chance to ask - have you seen the recent study from UCLA/Johns Hopkins/Boston University et al linking evictions to a rise in COVID cases? If so, thoughts?

Onto rental assistance update which just a reminder we are only predicted to spend 75-80% of $10 million. Not because the need isn't there, but because we have to pay Deloitte for the program for some reason and make poor people prove that they're poor because of COVID.

(I want to be clear that General Assistance is doing its absolute best here but can only do as much as the County Board lets it do. If we fail in this, it is the County Board who is responsible).

The 14.4% who have been denied bc GA was unable to verify hardship due to COVID-19 means they had all of the necessary docs but couldn't prove they lost income bc of COVID-19. I've never got a clear answer on what, specifically, this means.

Just an FYI. The County is going to roll any unspent CARES money into their General Fund for 2021.
