This has been on my mind since our discussion in the discord. ARCs are worthless. I'm sorry but they are. They're often uncorrected, they're not to be resold. You are quite legit being asked to review a flawed, unfinished product. They are originally meant for businesses https://twitter.com/CaffeinatedCov/status/1334521633202204673
Because them being unfinished didn't matter, the point is for booksellers to figure out how to sell them. Pro book reviewers who work for publications will get paid for their time regardless. So where does that leave bookbloggers and booktubers with?

It comes down to this.
Publishers give you something that is already free, for free and expect you to sell it for them essentially and then you get to more ARCs resulting in more free labor. It's like compensating an artist by hooking them up with more people asking them for free artwork.
This is mostly why I prefer to purchase my own books because they have material value and can be sold easily through any channel if I desire to. What can solve this issue of free labor given by book bloggers and booktubers is to begin giving final prints of the books.
Give them the exact physocal copy that everyone is going to get on the shelves on release date. That was way you get a review on the product as it's intended to be read, you reviece and unbiased more completed review regardless, AND the blooger/tuber has something of actual value
For their time that they can properly choose to keep in their collection or sell. Therefore a mutual exchange is going on where both are befitting in someway that require the reviewer to go buy their own finished copy after it's out and have reviews that don't reflect the actual
Finished book upon release. Also have options open to pay for advertising space on booktubers and bloggers platforms if you want more than just a review. It's just good business homie. You can even offer a discount code if they preorder from your preferred outlet. Practicality.
