Is Peppa Pig an apex predator? A thread. https://twitter.com/adrianafigueroa/status/1334347515928305666
Where would Adrianna get such an idea, you may ask. Well, first of all, let’s address a rumor floating around of a “front facing Peppa the Pig.” (image below may be disturbing to some)
This image never appears in the actual show. It is a fanmade drawing, a guess as to what the show’s creators would show us if Peppa ever dared to look the viewers in the eye. Therefore, it is not real.
Though, the question still remains. IS Peppa an apex predator?
Let’s ignore the obvious answer that no, Peppa is a pig and pigs are not apex predators, and instead look at her eyes.
(Because her eyes are what sparked this question.)
One would assume that, since Peppa’s eyes face the camera, similar to that of a human’s front-facing eyes, she would have some carnivorous tendencies. However, dear mutuals and followers alike, this is a serious miscalculation on your part.
Let us look at the side profile of an actual, real life man. Notice how the eyes aren’t completely visible, and are not centered on the side of his face. Notice how they are not a true circle from this angle, more of a half-circle. His eyes are not directly facing us.
Now, let us look at a side profile (the only official profile we have) of Peppa the Pig. Notice how we can, in fact, see her full eyes. They’re perfect circles. They’re facing directly towards the camera, they’re facing *sideways.*
No predatory species would have eyes such as this. Carnivorous species often have front-facing eyes, in order to see directly in front of them and make their vision clear. More preyed upon species, such as deer, have eyes on the sides of their head in order to scout a wider area.
Thus, is Peppa an apex predator? Concisely, and without doubt, she is not. She must be prey.

...But to what, is she prey? I do not know. I fear whatever horrid monster these sentient species of animals must be on the lookout for. I pray that it will never reach us.
