The announcement I RT’d about the find credited the Colombians who led the study, but I’m disappointed to hear that they’ve been side-lined by media. It also incorrectly stated that this site was “unknown by locals,” which surprised me at the time, and turns out to be incorrect!
International collaborations: good!
Centering non-local presenters or collaborators at the expense of locals: bad!
Sharing the amazing work of indigenous peoples: good!
Framing those works in relation to some European art, or erasing contemporary indigenous folk: bad!
Ok?
