The quite scary thing is that at the launch it was claimed that this document would be best in class for transgender people, including for children.

If this is what’s on the way in the report from the National Trans Healthcare Steering Committee then I think the HSE would be wise not to take on these recommendations.

What else have TENI done that’s controversial?
Well they advised the HSE to use Tavistock for our children’s clinic.
Yes. That Bell-v-Tavistock. The one that the judges were so scathing of.

In fact it was reported that the HSE were to update their info in August. However their website and the document in question remains hosted on their website.

What’s more worrying of that this document also refers to cross sex hormones as reversible.

I cannot comprehend how cross sex hormones that can cause genital enlargement/voice changes for females or breast enlargement for males could be described as partially reversible.

At least the document indicates that social transition should be approached with caution. The adults came back into the room for that statement.
But don’t forget that if you plan to transition in school make sure that TENI are involved.

Who in the HSE signed off on this? What checks did they do before issuing to GPs?
