(Thread) Problems with the 10% reimbursement policy for persons who have up to 10 thousand euros in the Pension Fund (Trust), proposed yesterday by PDK:
1. Persons who have worked in the informal sector, which is estimated at about 30% of employees in Kosovo, have no income at all in the fund, do not benefit anything and therefore are not reimbursed. It is precisely these people who are most deprived economically and need help;
2. This policy can help people who are relatively young and have high wages, more than those who are older and work for a long time with relatively low wages.
A person with an average salary of 450 Euros working for 20 years, is not reimbursed 'cos he exceeds the limit of 10 thousand euros. However, a person with a salary of one thousand Euros working for 8 years, is reimbursed by the government because he has 9,600 euros in the fund
3. As mentioned in an analysis by @institutiGAP, 67% of contributors in the fund are men and only 33% are women, so this policy further creates gender inequality by rewarding men;
4. About half of the state revenues come from consumption taxes paid by citizens, many of them with no contribution at all in pension fund ->no logic that the money of these taxpayers without any money in the fund, to be used to finance persons withdrawing money from the fund.
