Loeffler and her husband made a big donation to a pro-Trump Super PAC right after news of the stock trades came out.
And right around the same time, the DOJ announced it was closing the investigation into it.

So what would happen if these prior actions ended up leading to future charges?

On the other hand, it’s not impossible that Trump could try to preemptively pardon Perdue and Loeffler. Which would carry its own scent of stink if it happened. Would Georgia be the first state in history to be represented by two Senators who both received Presidential pardons?
