The problem with Martial until this season so far wasn't even his output. He produced really good numbers last season. It's just the profile of player he is, makes it so hard to work around and doesn't suit us much.
When he's playing up front our methods of scoring goals greatly decrease.
He lacks movement inside the box, can't head the ball, can't volley, can't score with his first touch, can only score from the left side of the goal. It's too easy to play against.

I know the instant reaction to this will be "he drops between the lines and his link up play is fantastic",which is absolutely true but for a 4231 striker is that the most important attribute? Surely movement is most important, the 3 behind can do all of the link up play
Then at LW, he doesn't run in between FB-CB enough, has no work ethic to run the other way, good 1v1 with defenders but often dribbles in to crowds. Just not all that of a player, far too limited.
