Beat Coastal Week #4:

I’m bummed this game most likely isn’t happening, but I’m incredibly proud of how our administration has handled this.

1. We reportedly were open with Coastal about covid issues as early as last week. That allowed them to begin to make backup plans.
2. We've helped BYU in case we can't play. They're going to be able to slide into our hotel rooms and have the entire plans for the trip laid out for them making it simple for them to step in. Coastal/BYU isn’t possible without that logistical help.
3. We've helped facilitate the biggest game and moment in program history for Coastal. For all the pieces of the rivalry, I would’ve hated to see them lose GameDay. They’ve earned the right to have that celebration.

4. We've helped ESPN in both ratings and logistics.
We have been a great partner to everyone involved in this. Not only will it help us with those relationships in the future, but it was the right thing to do. We have a moral obligation as the leading Christian athletic department in the country to do exactly what we've done.
I’m really proud of our Athletic Department.

I know we do things the right way but watching this all play out and how we’ve been good partners to everyone is a proud moment.

We’ve had so many embarrassments over the years that this makes a crappy situation feel nice.
