Today’s poem.

When I say reading poetry helps me read the Bible with better eyes, I look at the structure & rhyming patterns & even the imagery of this particular poem, I think of how much would be lost in another language, & then I keep that gulf in mind when I read scriptures.
You can sit in a dozen seminary classroom for hours & learn which psalms were acrostic and what not... but sometimes I find the best ways to learn about the bridges that separate us is to start from the other end of em.

We, too, have a truth that needs to be rightly handled.
That’s said, reading outside of versification and whatnot has also helped me read the Bible with better eyes personally.

Whatever you gotta do to see the scriptures more clearly... try that.
