I'm from PWC. This why global solidarity against p*lice is critical. Our resistance goes beyond borders-- the US war & "law & order" machine has historically taught the world how to brutalize their own people. As Salvis, we've seen this process (a la US trained death squads).
link for those interested in reading how PWC police had a hand in Nigerian police's violence against protestors. https://foreignpolicy.com/2020/12/02/foreign-governments-are-aiding-nigerias-violence-against-protesters/
There were literally Salvadoran armed forces with helicopters & weapons paid for by US dollars. US planes used to inform the military about resistance forces locations. We saw soldiers using guns the US army used in Vietnam to brutalize their people too.
One of the most notorious death squads, batallón atlacatl had literally received a months-long training course by the US army. Many trained in Ft. Bragg right in North Carolina. By 1982, Reagan had already spent millions in training them.
US money follows their political & economic agendas. So why & how does a police force who "needs more funding" go on to train on another continent? DEFUND PWC POLICE. It's clear where at least part of their funding has gone & will go to as antipolice movements continue to rise up
Learning from organizers & protestors historically & internationally is crucial. Just like they share terror tactics, & weapons, we must learn from organizers worldwide. Cause if the murderous police/ army has done *something* anywhere, there's always ppl resisting that *thing.*
So Joe Biden declaring that “the US must stand with Nigerians who are peacefully demonstrating for police reform" means absolute shite when over 60 Nigerian protestors have been killed since this uprising began in Oct. It's performative when US money is saying the opposite.
"The United States made nearly $19 million worth of military sales of defense education & technical training to the Nigerian Army & police between 2015 and 2019."
"just over $38 million worth of training was provided over the past five years to Nigerian security officials."
"just over $38 million worth of training was provided over the past five years to Nigerian security officials."
"More than 7,000 people were killed by U.S. police between 2013 and 2019, and officers seldom face any legal consequences. Similarly, the Nigerian Army and Nigeria Police Force they helped train are notorious for killing civilians with impunity."
From every corner on this planet #AbolishPolice #AbolishMilitary now. REVOLUCIÓN, YA! Solidarity to all people across the world who have been resisting & fighting for decades, centuries-- who have developed their own tactics for survival. Solidaridad internacional!
