I keep reading it everytime someone has a bad GW right after using the wildcard.
So here we go:

Unlike the Free Hit, we plan for at least 3-4 GWs while using the Wildcard.
So why do we make conclusions just after one GW? You're using the chip to have a better team (on papers) for next few GWs and not for immediate impact (maybe true for DGWs at the end of the season).

Looking at my current rank progression for example, I used my WC in GW6 which ended up being a stinker for me.
I started the GW at 826k and lost 250k rank.
My previous team would have outscored the new team but my new squad looked in a better shape.

The first couple of tranfers I had to make were because of bad luck involving Aguero injury, who I replaced with Ings.
If it wasn't for those injuries I would have had even more margin with tranfers.
The only pick I can maybe regret is getting rid of McCarthy for Martinez.

But that is hindsight. In GW6, it made sense for me.
Despite all that, the squad's core I picked was decent and I started seeing green arrows and climb the ranks again.
600k green arrow in 5 GWs is a Wildcard success!
Conclusion: Be Patient! Believe in your picks!
