One of the things that has hurt Western Christianity, and therefore the West, the most is the misconception of what meekness means in the Bible.
The Greek word for meek, praus, related to the taming of war horses. The Greeks would take the wildest, strongest horses and tame them into fine war horses.
What is implied by the etymology of the word is a strength under control, like a sword that's sheathed or a sports car that's driving within the speed limit.
In the West it has come to be understood weakness for weakness sake. So you see a new type of pharisee where people virtue signal over how weak and pathetic they are in order to display—false—humility.
Christ's actions in the Gospel are interpreted as weakness, Christ becomes a "beta male", though in fact He's extremely charismatic, assertive, non-conformist, controversial, etc. Our Lord is not "meek" at all... There is no hippie Jesus in the Bible.
The Neopagans justifiably argue against this Western distortion of Christ, one that they probably have been taught from childhood.

However, not only is it a strawman, it relates to certain ancient heresies like Marcionism, Gnosticism, Arianism and Nestorianism.
I wonder if the loss of the Christus Victor understanding of the Atonement is due to this new conception of meekness; victory doesn't make sense to the cuck Pharisee, to whom a loss is preferable to a win, if the win is contrary to made-up principles of ethics.
Think of the libertarians and supposed conservatives in America who would rather lose their liberty to Big Tech than curtail their power using the only way possible - the state.
What is seen then in modern Christianity is that the faith is relativized, and becomes worldly, profane, as a result. This is seen especially in Protestantism, but also in Roman Catholicism.
The sacred and the profane no longer become distinguished because of these weak men. Rock or hip hop becomes just as valid as the traditional liturgy. The distinction between clergy and laity, between man and woman, etc. ceases.
In the mass mind, politics no longer becomes a matter of truth vs. falsity, but mean vs. nice.

This is a theological matter, because everything—culture, politics, etc.—is downstream from theology.
