I haven't commented on the #KeiraBell case until now as I've been busy with my nursing course & then I was too stunned. Now I feel sick to my stomach.

This decision sends a clear signal that while the public in Britain, and business Britain, are largely tolerant & supportive of trans & NB people, institutional Britain & media Britain are implacably hostile & are working together to crush a tiny & vulnerable minority. 2/n
1. NHS trans healthcare for youth has effectively been withdrawn.
2. Adult trans healthcare is now virtually unobtainable.
3. Private trans healthcare is beyond the means of most patients.

4. A private healthcare company, set up by British GPs, which legally prescribed puberty blockers via online consultations from its base in Spain, saw its UK prescribing partner back out after strong pressure from the UK pharmaceutical regulator.

The decision meant loss of access to blockers for many kids who were already on them. The consequences are horrific in terms of physical & mental health.

Now we hear of another test case, which could establish a precedent for the state taking away a parent's child if that parent takes them abroad to access trans healthcare. Think about that for a minute.

There is a name for this process.
There is a definition for it, written into international law.
There is even a precedent for it - in that same British State's treatment of the Aboriginal Tasmanians in the 19th century.
And that name is genocide.
