First of all, according to every sect of Islam, the two basic believes that make you a "Muslim" are "La ilaha Illallah, there is NO God but Allah", and "Muhammad ur Rasool Allah, Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah".
How can Shia's be kafirs when they believe in both the doctrines. Secondly, we are blamed for being mushriks for saying "Ya Ali a.s madad". For this, we have the answer that Tawassul is mentioned in the Quran!

We worship Allah (swt) and we revere the glorious Ahlul Bayt (a). Yes we love them more than anything in the world. We love their friends and (loyal) companions and we curse their enemies.
And there's nothing wrong in cursing the bad people as Allah has himself cursed in the Holy Quran.
