Thread on interesting #AGU2020 talks & posters I've run across. I will add new presentations over the next few weeks as I see them.

Interesting paper about crop yields. Upshot: "CO2 is plant food" might be right, but higher temps and less water are plant killers. Net result is bad news for maize.

Lots of good data here about extreme heat and population exposure. Plus, a rock intro to the talk, which I really enjoyed.

Just watched @KHayhoe's great talk in this session:
INV03 - Climate Change and the Coronavirus: Promoting Emerging Leaders Through Crucial Conversations
just watching it cheers me up!
the talk is on youtube, so anyone can watch:

Fascinating talk on avoiding heat stress
NH019-02 - Heat and Health: Using physiological evidence to build resilience to a warming planet
Do not use a fan if it's > 95°F and dry. Also, they have a heat wave chamber where they can simulate heat waves.

We live in a gold age of data. Nice presentation of the NASA "black marble", a data set of light from cities and how it changes over time.
