1. It's remarkable how effectively the capitalists are able to so completely distort history that it ends up entirely inverted. For instance, in the widespread and ludicrous myth that Poland was somehow a victim of the Soviet Union. In reality it was quite the other way around.
2. In the early 1920s Poland took advantage of the Russian Civil War by invading the USSR and stealing huge swathes of its land in Lithuania, Belarus and Ukraine, as part of fascist despot Pilsudski's fantasy of recreating the medieval Polish-Lithuanian empire.
3. Right-wing history falsely labels that region "eastern Poland" and presents the Soviets as aggressors when they liberated that land in 1939.
4. Under reactionary Polish rule, the Lithuanian, Belorussian and Ukrainian masses, particularly the Jewish people, were viciously oppressed by the right-wing, chauvinist, and anti-Semitic regime.
5. That regime imposed a colonial order and stole land through Polish settlement much as the Zionist regime does now in Palestine.
6. When the Soviets liberated this so-called "eastern Poland," the worker-peasant masses greeted the Soviets as liberators. The only ones who lost out were the oppressive Polish capitalists, aristocrats, and gentry as well as the local right-wing comprador traitors.
7. Even here bourgeois history lies, claiming the Soviets massacred all the Poles, which in fact the USSR did not do; the Soviets interned the Poles, who were then executed by the Nazis when they invaded the Soviet Union.
8. The Nazis later, when the tide of war had turned against them, exhumed the bodies and falsely claimed the Soviets had killed them, in the hope of sowing division between the USSR, Poland and the Western powers and thereby disrupting the anti-fascist alliance.
9. This lie has become the "conventional wisdom" on the matter to this day. Goebbels laughs in his grave.
10. Then it was the Soviets who liberated Poland from Nazi barbarism, at the cost of the lives of half a million Red Army soldiers. The USSR is the only reason Poland even exists now; if not for the Soviets, Poland would be Lebensraum today with the Polish people exterminated.
11. Instead Poland still exists, and right-wing Polish nationalists in all their suicidal idiocy try to falsely equate the USSR with Nazi Germany. The Soviet Union saved the Polish people and this is the thanks they get.
12. Reactionaries further charge that the Soviets "oppressed" the people of Poland and "occupied" Poland and "slaughtered" Poles. None of the three are true. The USSR didn't occupy Poland even for a single minute.
13. As the Red Army liberated Poland, all Polish territory was transferred to the control of the Polish People's Army and the Polish Workers' Party. The Polish worker-peasant masses were uplifted and empowered by the Soviet-led liberation of Poland.
14. The only ones who lost out were, again, the exploiting classes of capitalists and landlords, who sought to retake power in Poland but were thwarted and overthrown by the Polish worker-peasant masses via the Polish Workers' Party.
15. But of course, the bourgeois version of "history" is the history of only the exploiting classes, so the communist overthrow of the exploiting classes is falsely portrayed as communist oppression of all Poland.
16. Even though it was POLISH communists who expropriated the property of the bourgeoisie and landlords and made it the property of the working people of all Poland.
17. So, the right-wing Polish state of the bourgeoisie and landlords invades the USSR and steals its land, colonizing and oppressing its people, the Soviet Union retakes its land and frees its people from oppression
18. (this, btw, enabled the Soviets to evacuate over a million Jews from that area before the Nazis could get to them)
19. The Soviet Union then saves Poland from the Nazi genocide, the Polish worker-peasant masses become masters of their own country with the help of the USSR, and all this somehow works out to "poor sad victim Poland, oppressed by big bad evil Stalin who just hates freedom." Sure
