🚧🧨I’d like to challenge everyone to rethink what UI is.

A user interface is a designed experience, intentionally crafted to help a human navigate the world through interaction, signs & feedback.

A traffic light, a toaster, a grocery store, a crafting menu, a watch... all UI.
Now I’d like to challenge you what UX is, its how you feel about that designed experience. How do you psychologically analyze it?

- Did I wait too long for that traffic light?
- Why do people keep burning their toast?
- Are my customers enjoying their shopping experience?
UI and UX are intertwined and anyone that thinks UI is just aesthetics or visual fluff has no idea what they’re talking about.

Everyone owns UX, its a shared effort to make a great product whereas you need a distinct owner for UI.
Many will disagree with me with the following statement but I speak from a place of 15 years of experience working on several game titles, web apps and physical devices.

UX belongs under UI. UX was born from trying to improve the human centric approach to UI design.
☢️CONTROVERSIAL☢️

There is a UX egomania going on in the industry and I think its a combination of:

- The confusion and buzzwordy nature of UX, people not understanding it
- Money and power, UX ppl are paid more. Their voices can drown out others.
- UI not being understood
And yes... its a really really big problem! Everyone is left confused and I’m sure many ppl (especially UX designers) will call me crazy for my views. It has to be said though!!
