Twitter often compels us not to post about certain things out of a fear of legitimizing or dignifying them by giving them attention/oxygen. This is why I have largely ignored “Q-Anon.” But this is a terrorist group that threatens our nation and MUST be called out as such (Thread)
Q-Anon is a conspiracy group whose adherents believe Donald Trump is secretly working to rid the world from a cabal of satanic pedophiles. The absurdity and baselessness of this aside, it’s following has grown & been linked to increasing acts of violence & terrorism since 2018.
The following are domestic terrorist incidents that have been directly linked to Q-Anon members since it rose to prominence in 2018.

1.) June 15th, 2018: Matthew Wright blocks a bridge near the Hoover Dam with an armored vehicle. He later pleads guilty to a terrorism charge.
2.) December 19, 2018: A California man is arrested after being found with what appeared to be bomb-making materials in his car, in an alleged plot to blow up a satanic display in the capitol in Springfield, Illinois.
3.) March 13, 2019: Anthony Comello murdered a leader in the Gambino crime family on Staten Island. His lawyer wrote, “Mr. Comello became certain that he was enjoying the protection of President Trump himself, and that he had the president’s full support.”
4.) September 25, 2019: Timothy Larsen smashes up the Chapel of the Holy Hill in Sedona, Arizona, while shouting about the Catholic church supporting human trafficking. Larson used QAnon hashtags on social media and referred to vandalizing the church as a “mission.”
5.) December 30, 2019: Montana police arrest a QAnon supporter from Colorado. Her daughter told law enforcement officials that her mother and her friends were “QAnon believers” and that they were planning a kidnapping raid.
6.) March 26th, 2020: Neely Blanchard, a Kentucky woman linked to both the anti-government sovereign citizen movement and QAnon conspiracy theories, was arrested after taking her children from their grandmother, their legal guardian.
7.) April 2nd, 2020: Eduardo Moreno, a train engineer from San Pedro, California, was charged with intentionally derailing a freight train near the navy hospital ship Mercy in LA because he believed it was part of suspicious activities involving the coronavirus
8.) April 30th 2020: Jessica Prim, an avid QAnon follower, was arrested after livestreaming her drive from Illinois to NY on Facebook to kidnap Hillary Clinton. Her posts claimed “Clinton, her assistant, Joe Biden and Tony Podesta need to be taken out in the name of Babylon!”
9.) June 11th, 2020: Alpalus Slyman leads police on a 20-mile car chase while livestreaming himself talking about QAnon. “Donald Trump, I need a miracle or something,” he said while being chased across MA and NH, as well as “QAnon, help me. QAnon, help me!”
10.) July 3rd, 2020: Corey Hurren, a reservist in the Canadian Rangers, rammed a truck through the gates of the prime minister’s residence in Ottawa. She claimed that Bill Gates was responsible for the Covid-19 pandemic. Her company also posted QAnon memes to Instagram in March.
11.) August 12th, 2020: Cecilia Fulbright, 30, was arrested in Waco, TX, after 2 drivers reported being chased by her & one repeatedly rammed. Fulbright told officers that she believed she was chasing a pedophile and that she was rescuing a young girl from being trafficked.
12.) October 1st, 2020: Emily Jolley fled with her six-year-old son, whose father has sole legal custody, and was later arrested.
Jolley was described by a Utah law enforcement official as a Q anon supporter and hersocial media profiles were afull of references to Trump and QAnon
There are dozens of additional examples of cases like this where individuals who ascribe to these insane beliefs commit acts of violence and terrorism in a misguided effort to fulfill a mission rooted in lies and spread by a person they’ve never met and likely doesn’t even exist.
The reason Q-Anon is so dangerous is because it not only predisposes it’s members to violence and terrorism but currently has the backing of the entire Republican Party and outgoing President of the United States, who of course loves the group because they see him as their savior
To make matters worse, a number of recently elected GOP members of Congress describe themselves as “Q-sympathetic” or “Q-supporting.” These include Marjorie Taylor Greene from Georgia and Lauren Boebert of Colorado. And dozens of other members also claim to believe Q rhetoric.
We need to be very clear about what’s happening: a fringe conspiracy theory rooted in the idea that Trump is the last line of defense against a cabal of child-molesting Democrats seeking world domination and is steeped in racist & anti-semitic tropes has found its way TO CONGRESS
Once we defeat Loeffler & Perdue & retake the senate on January 5th, we need to organize IMMEDIATELY to repudiate and remove every member of Congress who even pretends to lend credence to this insane conspiratorial vitriol that incites violence, hatred, and chaos based on lies.
Insane conspiracy theories like this have no place in our government. Senators Loeffler and Perdue have both called Q-anon “friends” of theirs. Anyone occupying elected office who is friends with a group promoting terrorism must be voted out. #StopTeamQ
