In light of recent development, I'm going to do something I've never done--making a long rant about a series.
This is not a theory. This is not an explainer. This is my take on the ideal ending for the series Start-Up.

The story of Start-Up starts with this guy right here, Mr. Seo Chung-myung. A visionary, who, unfortunately dies before seeing his dreams come to life. His dream and ambition is the catalyst for the things that would happen in the future--the rise of two women entrepreneur.
Seo Chung-myung's noble dream rips his family, and puts two sisters who loved each other into separate lanes. Won Injae, a hardened realist, seemingly living an easy life, but grew up to be an ice queen. Seo Dalmi, a wide-eyed optimist, lives a tough life, is a warm sunshine.
Like a lot of sisters, they love each other, but fought as much. Sibling rivalry is the second catalyst that really put things into motion. Fate comes into play in the form of the love letters. But idc about the letters hahaha, I'm here for Dalmi and Injae's petty one upmanship.
The rivalry drags two useful idiots, Han Jipyeong and Nam Dosan. Idiots, because they both love Dalmi, and love makes us men do very, very stupid things. Like, pretending to be someone you're not to impress a girl by all means necessary. Aww, look at these two lovely minions.
By joining Sandbox, Dalmi wished to surpass Injae, not knowing that she is merely retreading her sister's steps as a business leader. By mirroring Injae, Dalmi essentially presents the case that they are not very different after all. They are both Seo Chung-myung's daughters.
The mirroring continues as they learned that they wanted the same things. The circle is completed with Dalmi's identical failure with Injae, as she was kicked out by people who owns her company. The next logical step is obviously to join forces.

The Seo sisters had their eyes set on the future on, most probably, the Smart City project. This chapter concludes half of the bigger picture, represented by Sandbox's logo.
Dalmi is the girl on the swing, and Injae is the driving force that frees her from inertia.

Do you miss our useful idiots? Here we go. In order to complete the logo, this is the pairing I've been looking forward to for a long time. Let's call this one....

Huh. Look at this asshole, flaunting his tragic backstory that made grown men cry, his nice suits, fancy cars, and apartment facing the Han river that makes me wanna scream, "Why can't it be me?????" *weeps on Haelmoni's shoulder*
And look at this fool, exuding relatability with every move he makes, yet armed with a genius badge (a lot of you can't even remember what HTML stands for), loving family, funny friends, and good looks. Are we really supposed to root and feel bad for you? Really???
These two are too busy fighting, like Dalmi and Injae, they didn't know that they complete each other.
While Dalmi and Injae's converging lanes are mainly goal-related, here the convergence of Jipyeong and Dosan runs deeper, as it fused their personality and entwined their arc.

HJP + NDS seemingly start with nothing in common. But, having set his eyes on Dalmi, NDS who allowed himself to be HJP's proxy ended up mirroring his pathway and criteria for success. HJP, punished by the universe for his sharp tongue, ended up absorbing NDS' redeeming qualities.
In ep 15, presumably, the night HJP concedes & mentors NDS for the last time to win Dalmi, both will complete their first journey and flip a switch. The insecure NDS will be a confident man who knows his worth. And the arrogant HJP will become the living Buddha. Two become one.
By merging HJP, persona NDS, and real NDS together, bringing Dalmi's past and present partner in the same lane, NDS will also mirror HJP's decision to concede, thus cancelling each other out. With both already having a "family" with Dalmi, it feels cruel to sever any of them.
With no clear winner on the horizon, how will we decide who will end up with Dalmi?
It's 2020. Let her decide for herself. She is not your trophy.

Dalmi is not stupid, nor helpless, nor weak. Eh, maybe be a bit naive. The 2020 Seo Dalmi has enough experience to know when to dream and when to be realistic. She knows what she wants.

So, what I propose for an ideal ending for Seo Dalmi's relationship fiasco is....

Do remember that HJP and NDS, who have exchanged position, is no longer the same person. The business-oriented mentor no longer fits into Dalmi's expanding career. And the compassionate lover is now precisely the weapon she can utilize to conquer the future.

Yes, NDS will be honored to accept Seo Dalmi's offer to be her lifetime business partner, her right hand man, and the general who will win her wars in the battlefield. He will be there for the good and the bad because he loves her.
And, HJP will take Dalmi's hand into marriage.

Come on. Are you married? How many hours in a day do you spent with your colleagues? Most of us came home exhausted, we just wanna sleep, man. I'm sorry, HJP, you're hot but Dalmi will have a meeting tomorrow at 8. So, eh?

But if you _really_ have to take this into a win-lose scenario, here's the bottom line: NDS got the better deal.
And then comes the part where I say, it doesn't matter. NDS and HJP are humble enough to know that they're merely supporting players serving a bigger purpose.

Back to the logo. Dalmi has Injae that pushes her forward, NDS is the swing that will propel her to a great high, and HJP will be there to catch her.
All to support Cheong Myeong, a company inspired by a great man, as the vehicle that will bring Seo Sisters to world domination.
